1. Choose Your Quilt Style, Size, and Fabric Color Choices
Browse the quilt style menu and select your preferred layout, quilt size, and fabric colors. If you’re unsure which option is best, I’m happy to help guide you through the choices.
2. Secure Your Spot With a Deposit
A deposit is required to reserve your place in the quilting schedule. Once your order is confirmed, you’ll receive shipping instructions and the mailing address for your shirts.
3. Send Your Uncut Shirts
Please send clean, uncut shirts. Adult shirts work best, but youth shirts and other sentimental clothing items can often be incorporated as well. Including a few extra shirts is always helpful for layout flexibility.
Shirt Guidelines
- Please do not cut shirts before mailing
- Washed shirts are preferred
- Adult shirts work best
- Small youth shirts may require adjustments
- Light wear and small imperfections are okay
- Include extras if possible
Design Preferences & Shirt Layout Notes
If you have a preferred shirt arrangement or specific layout requests, please include a sketch or reference photo.
You can:
- Email layout photos or notes to quiltyourshirts@gmail.com
- Include printed notes or photos inside your shipment box
If no layout is provided, shirts will be arranged in a balanced layout using the chosen quilt style.
Indicating Shirt Sides
Please use painter’s tape, sticky notes, or safety pins to indicate:
- Which side of the shirt should be used
- If both the front and back should be included
- If a sleeve detail should be included
- If no indications are made, the biggest motif is used
If both sides of a shirt are requested, it counts as two shirt panels.
Fabrics That Cannot Be Included
For durability and quilting quality, the following materials are not recommended:
- Delicate fabrics (silk, lace, chiffon, etc.)
- Heavy fabrics (denim, leather, wool, etc.)
- Highly stretchy fabrics (lycra, spandex, etc.)
- Embellished fabrics (sequins, beads, rhinestones, etc.)
If you are unsure about a specific item, feel free to ask before mailing your shirts.
4. The Quilting Process
Once your shirts arrive, each quilt is carefully planned, stabilized, pieced, quilted, and finished with attention to detail and durability in mind. Quilting adds structure and longevity, helping preserve your memories for years to come.
5. Mailed Back to You
Your finished quilt will be carefully packaged and mailed back to you, ready to be used, gifted, and cherished.
Shipping Instructions
Please package shirts securely and include your name or order information inside the box. Tracking is recommended when shipping sentimental items.
Why Quilted T-Shirt Quilts?
A quilted t-shirt quilt is more than just a blanket — it’s a meaningful keepsake designed to preserve memories in a functional, lasting way. Unlike standard t-shirt blankets, quilting adds durability, structure, and a finished heirloom feel that helps your shirts last longer while creating something beautiful enough to use every day.
